About Us

Our owner, Shannon, has a masters degree in genetic counseling and worked with cancer patients for nearly 20 years. After the chaos of covid, a divorce, house sale, lost job, and canceled wedding, she decided to take her science background and responsibilities as a single mom and find something that was profitable, flexible, whimsical, and FUN. With some money left from the sale of her house, she started Something Wicked Cannabis Company, hired on some amazing new friends, and created a place where adults can feel again like a kid in a candy store!

When Shannon looked at what she wanted in her career at 40, it was three things.

She wanted to be PRESENT for all of her children’s games and performances. If one of the kids was getting an award at 2:15 in the afternoon, she wanted to be able to BE THERE. She didn’t want to ask her employer for permission to be a good parent–she wanted flexibility built in to her work and the work of her employees so that family could always come first.
She wanted to do something profitable–as a single parent she wanted something that would support her family and help her kids pay for college. She wanted to work at something that would be profitable enough that she could pay employees a LIVING WAGE and support them in all of their career goals too.
And she wanted something FUN! After 20+ years in academia and medicine, writing journal articles, chasing promotions, and worrying over 401k’s and insurance authorizations, it was time to put up the super serious wardrobe and pull out the overalls and flip flops. We hope that everyone who comes through our door, employee or customer, finds some fun and whimsy in our shop to take out into the world!
